Peak dates are when too many people want the same seats. Fares rise, cheap basic-economy inventory disappears, and a missed connection has fewer later flights. Azurovia city-pair guides list typical softer months. Live search tells you whether your exact dates are in the expensive pile.
Late November Thanksgiving window, mid-December through the first days of January, summer Fridays from late June through early August, and the long holiday weekends. Add Super Bowl weekend for the host city, and major city marathons or festivals when you know one is on.
Caribbean and Mexico from the Northeast peak in winter. Europe from the East Coast peaks in June–August and around Christmas. Ski cities peak around Christmas and Presidents’ Day. Florida peaks when northern schools break. A “cheap month” on when to search is still expensive if your dates hit a local event.
The Monday after a holiday weekend and the Tuesday after Thanksgiving Sunday are often easier than the branded holiday itself. Search them. If work will not allow it, book the peak and budget for bags and seats as paid extras — they sell out too.
