How to plan a group trip that will actually happen

Group trips die in the gap between “we should go” and eight separate checkouts. Airlines do not hold a group of cheap basic-economy seats while your friends vote in a chat. Someone has to pick dates and a search, then everyone buys the same itinerary — or you accept that people will arrive on different flights.

Pick dates like a dictator, then confirm once

Offer two weekends, not twelve. Search both on Azurovia in USD. Screenshot the totals with a timestamp and the itinerary (times, stops). Vote in 48 hours. After that, the fare file moves.

Same flights or same city

Same flights means adjacent seats are possible and one person can manage a delay. Same city on different fares is easier to buy and harder at baggage claim. Seats sell out on groups.

Names and money

Collect names exactly as on IDs before anyone pays — name corrections are painful on eight tickets. Do not have one friend pay for everyone on a personal card unless you trust refunds. Azurovia does not ticket and cannot split a PNR we never created.

Cheap destinations that work in a group

Start with cheap trips with friends. Las Vegas, Miami, Cancun, and short US hops have frequency. A once-a-week long-haul is a bad group bet if two people miss the only outbound.
