Pets are not a standard search filter the way bags are. Space in the cabin is limited, cargo holds have temperature and breed restrictions, and US rules for service animals are not the same as the old “emotional support animal” exception. If a pet is travelling, you confirm the operating airline’s pet desk first, then search fares. Azurovia does not book kennels or issue pet reservations.
Most US airlines that allow cabin pets require a leak-proof soft carrier that fits under the seat, a health certificate on some international routes, and a fee paid to the airline — often per direction. Cats and small dogs are the usual cabin animals. Quantity per cabin is capped; once the flight is full of pets, later requests are refused even if seats remain. Book the pet as soon as the ticket exists.
Fewer airlines still accept pets as checked baggage. Many have moved pets to cargo only, seasonal embargoes (heat and cold), snub-nose breed bans, and crate requirements that follow IATA Live Animals rules. Puppy and kitten age minimums apply. International inbound rules add rabies titles, microchips, and waiting periods. Cargo is not “the same as a checked bag with a pet inside.”
US Department of Transportation rules treat trained service dogs differently from emotional support animals. Airlines may require DOT service-animal forms and can refuse animals that are not housebroken or that pose a safety issue. An ESA letter that worked years ago is not a cabin-pet waiver. If you have a trained service dog, deal with the operating airline’s disability desk — not a metasearch form.
A pet reservation is usually per flight, not “the whole trip.” A connection on another airline may need a second booking. Separate tickets mean you collect the carrier and re-clear security with the animal.
Pick the airline that will actually accept your animal, then search that itinerary. A cheaper fare on a carrier that bans the breed is not a fare you can use. After you ticket, the seller and the airline both need the pet on the record. We cannot add a pet to a PNR we did not create.
